Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings (separated into flats and drumettes)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Optional: buffalo sauce, BBQ sauce, ranch for dipping
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Pat dry chicken wings thoroughly with paper towels.
- Toss wings in a large bowl with vegetable oil and seasonings until evenly coated.
- Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed).
- Air fry for 25–30 minutes, shaking the basket every 8–10 minutes, until crispy and golden.
- Optional: Toss wings in your favorite sauce and air fry for 2 more minutes.
- Serve with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and a side of ranch or blue cheese dip.
- Great with fries, coleslaw, or mac and cheese for a full meat
- Dry the wings well: Patting the wings dry removes excess moisture and helps them get extra crispy in the air fryer without needing extra oil.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer: Cook in batches if needed. Wings need space for the air to circulate and crisp them up properly.
- Use baking powder (optional): Adding 1 tsp of aluminum-free baking powder to the seasoning mix can help make the skin extra crispy.
- Preheat the air fryer: Always preheat for even cooking and a good sear from the start.
- Flip or shake during cooking: Shake the basket or flip the wings every 8–10 minutes to ensure they cook evenly on all sides.
- Add sauce at the end: Toss wings in sauce only after cooking, then pop them back in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes to set the glaze without burning it.
- Pair with dips: Serve with ranch, blue cheese dressing, or a garlic aioli for dipping.
