Spicy Honey Butter Chicken Sliders
These sliders are a bold mix of sweet heat and buttery richness — featuring crispy fried chicken, slathered in homemade spicy honey butter, and sandwiched in soft Hawaiian rolls. They’ve become a favorite for weeknight dinners, game day spreads, and TikTok-famous meal prep.
Prep: 25 minutes
Cook: 20 minutes
Total: ~45 minutes
Servings: Makes 12 sliders
Ingredients:
For the Chicken:
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into 12 pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the Spicy Honey Butter:
Instructions:
- Soak chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 15 minutes (or overnight for juicier results).
- In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, and seasonings.
- Heat oil in a skillet (350°F). Dredge chicken from buttermilk into flour mix. Fry until golden and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side. Drain on a paper towel.
- Whisk melted butter with honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes.
- Slice Hawaiian rolls in half. Layer with chicken, cheese, and pickles. Brush the tops with spicy honey butter.
- Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 5–7 minutes to melt cheese and warm through.
Serving Suggestion:
- Serve warm with coleslaw, sweet potato fries, or a cold lemonade.
Tips:
- Use chicken thighs for extra juicy sliders.
- Swap hot sauce to match your heat level.
- Make them mini breakfast sandwiches with a fried egg and bacon!
