COOKIE DOUGH FROSTING CUPCAKE

These Cookie Dough Frosting Cupcakes are a dream come true for cookie dough lovers! Moist vanilla cupcakes are topped with a rich, fluffy edible cookie dough frosting made with brown sugar, mini chocolate chips, and a touch of vanilla. The frosting tastes just like classic cookie dough — but completely safe to eat! Perfect for birthdays, bake sales, or anytime you want to wow a crowd with something playful and indulgent.

Servings: makes 12 cupcakes

Ingredients:
For the Vanilla Cupcakes:
For the Cookie Dough Frosting:
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup heat-treated all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions:
Bake the Cupcakes:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  5. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk until smooth.
  6. Fill liners 2/3 full and bake 18–22 minutes. Cool completely.
Make the Cookie Dough Frosting:
  1. To heat-treat flour: Microwave in a bowl for 1 minute (stirring halfway) or bake at 350°F for 5 minutes. Cool.
  2. Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  4. Fold in cooled flour and mini chocolate chips.
Assemble:
  1. Pipe or spread the cookie dough frosting generously onto cooled cupcakes.
  2. Optional: Top with extra mini chips or a tiny cookie for garnish!

Serving Suggestion:
  • Serve slightly chilled or at room temp. Great with a cold glass of milk or iced coffee!
Tips:
  • For smoother texture, blend brown sugar well or use superfine brown sugar.
  • You can skip mini chips for a silky frosting or mix in sprinkles for fun!
  • Make the frosting ahead and store in the fridge—just bring to room temp before frosting.
